A product of the Dewsbury Celtic club, Dane Manning was part of a BARLA Under 18 tour to Australia as a junior and on his return joined Leeds Rhinos in 2009. He came to Featherstone as a raw second-row forward the following season on a year-long loan, and his size and difficult-to-tackle running style meant he quickly nailed down a place in Daryl Powell’s first seventeen. A Championship Grand finalist at the end of the season, it was a surprise when he was allowed to leave to join Batley for 2011. He then had five good seasons with Halifax, consistently proving to be a thorn in Rovers’ side before he re-joined Batley in 2017.
