Danny Maun developed a good reputation as a quality Championship level centre at his hometown team Batley. Almost 50 tries in his first four seasons persuaded Featherstone Rovers to sign him up for the 2005 season, which unfortunately turned out to be a relegation campaign for Rovers. His 21 games that year brought him 10 tries, but he was part of an exodus of players as the club entered National League Two. He spent two years at Dewsbury before going home to Batley. A short spell at Hunslet was the conclusion to a 15 year career of nearly 400 matches.
