When Featherstone Rovers went to Keighley to sign Danny Seal, they already had a solid loose forward in the shape of Paul Darley. But Seal was a different style of back-rower to Darley’s handling and distribution role. Not the tallest of forwards, he was a strong runner and a tireless tackler in midfield. He was also noted as a prolific try scorer. He made the number 13 shirt his own over two seasons, despite a persistent hand injury, and his 68 games brought him a very good return of 31 tries.
