An Oxfordshire born prop forward, Griffin was the oldest of three rugby league playing brothers and first signed for Wakefield from Harlequins RU. After thirteen seasons and over 300 top flight games at four different Super League clubs, Griffin came to Featherstone for the 2016 season as an experienced front-rower and pack leader, guiding younger forwards such as Ormondroyd and Baldwinson. As such, he did a very good job for Featherstone. After two seasons, his Rovers career finished under a cloud over confusion as to the terms and conditions of his contract allowing him to play rugby union off-season or not. He finished his career at Keighley.
