Dave Dyas was a local wingman who forced his way into a very strong Rovers line up as a youngster. Although he missed out on a Wembley appearance in 1973, he played in the 1974 final against Warrington and also won a Championship medal in 1977. In a constant battle for his place against the likes of Ken Kellett and Paul Coventry, Dyas eventually lost his place after injury and later signed for Bramley.
