Davy Kimmel came over from Australia for trials under coach David Ward at the start of the 1997 season. Born in the Netherlands, he had an EU passport and was off-quota. He offered two seasons of no-fuss centre play, reliable on defence and a good runner of lines on attack. His career in the UK was finished by a compound leg fracture in a match at Keighley, a sad end for a popular player.
