Doncaster born, Dean Colton signed for his hometown team from Toll Bar ARLFC. After six seasons he came to Featherstone for the 2006 season with Rovers stuck in NL2. He had a decent season, but moved back home to Doncaster at the end of the year. He played a further five seasons there before retiring. Qualified by the heritage rule for Scotland, he played at the 2008 World Cup for his adopted nation, scoring a try against France.
