From Glasshoughton, Dennis Baddeley started at Castleford before transferring in 1942 to Wakefield where he had a long a successful career, including a Challenge Cup winner's medal in 1946 at Wembley. As a Wakefield player he played a single game as a War-time guest for Featherstone v St. Helens in the last match of the 1942/43 season.
