Dennis Binks came through the ranks at Featherstone, joining the senior club from Rovers juniors in 1951. To gain a first team spot was always going to be a battle in a competitive pack, and 12 appearances in five years was scant reward for Binks’ efforts. In 1956 he left to join Batley where he joined up with ex-Rovers team-mates Peter Fox and Stan Naylor.
