Duane Straugheir’s professional career started at Featherstone during Daryl Powell’s coaching reign. Just two first team games for a very strong Championship winning side lead Straugheir to look for first team football elsewhere.  After a brief spell at York he settled at Sheffield and played his part in the Eagles' surprise victory over Featherstone in the 2012 Grand final.He then moved to Hunslet where he was made club captain.
