After ten seasons and 186 games in the NRL, where he also won 11 international caps for New Zealand, Elijah Taylor arrived in the UK to play for Salford in 2022. Known for his non-stop workrate, as well as his handling skills, Taylor then joined Featherstone Rovers in 2023. He immediately impressed with his solid tackling and distribution, as well as his leadership and experience. Although operating at second-row, he was called on in one match to play at halfback. It was a blow therefore when, after just eight matches, he suffered a serious eye injury and was absent for more than two months. On his return he slotted back into his second-row position for the rest of the season, which ultimately ended in disappointment as Rovers were defeated in the Championship semi-final. One of a large number of departures, Elijah Taylor then joined Oldham for 2024 with team-mates Craig Kopczak and Matty Wildie.
