After starting his career with Warrington, Ellis Longstaff moved to Hull, then Salford before joining Featherstone Rovers towards the end of the 2023 season. Originally from Normanton, his father Spencer (Heritage Number 685) played for Featherstone in the early 1990's and his grandfather Paul was a well-respected loose forward at Hull KR and other clubs in the 1960s. After early games at centre and second-row he was not selected towards the playoff run in. Although contracted for the following year, he then decided to take a break from the sport at a relatively young age.
