As a Samoan international with plenty of NRL experience, the signing of Fa'Amunu "Nu" Brown for the 2021 season represented a coup for Feathertsone Rovers. It was also a gamble on a player whose career had been hampered by serious injuries, but the move worked out very well for both the club and the player. Born in New Zealand, Brown moved to Australia as a teenager and signed for Cronulla, playing 25 first grade games over four seasons, at half-back or hooker. After representing Samoa at the 2017 World Cup he signed for Canterbury, but spent most of his time there in reserve grade.

Given the number nine shirt at Featherstone, he immediately slotted in at stand-off, partnering either Dane Chisholm or Tom Holmes. Light on his feet, quick off the mark, and with an eye for a gap, Brown proved a potent attacking threat as Rovers dominated the Championship. Technically correct on defence, and with an infectious enthusiasm for the game, he quickly became a popular player, missing just one game all season, when he was rested. He played his part in Rovers' run to the Grand final, where once again the club fell just short of Super League. Unable to agree terms, Nu went back to Australia for 2022 with the best wishes of the fans.
