Frank Burdin of Knottingley signed for Rovers as a promising six foot 19 year old in March 1923 and made his first team debut in January 1924. But this was his solitary first team appearance and with limited opportunities he was transferred listed at his own request and moved to Bramley in March 1924. He subsequently moved on to Leeds where he made nine first team appearances before transferring back to Featherstone from Leeds in October 1928.
He made a couple of appearances immediately after re-signing and then with no more first team opportunities went back to playing with Knottingley though Rovers retained his registration. In January 1931, Rovers found themselves short of players through injury and suspensions, and with the A team disbanded for financial reasons they had no reserves to call upon. Burdin was recalled and made six appearances during this period. His last appearance was in October 1931.
