Prop forward Frank Eastwood signed for Featherstone in 1962 from Shaw Cross Amateurs at Dewsbury. After a patient apprenticeship in the A team, he made his first team debut in February 1963, reward for his consistent development.  From then, he was used sparingly as a fringe member of the first team squad, but still clocked up 42 appearances in four seasons. He was hampered by a persistent shoulder injury that eventually forced his early retirement.
