Tall second-rower Frankie Halton burst onto the scene at Swinton in 2019 after playing his junior rugby at Leigh Miners Rangers. His performances caught the eye of Rovers coach James Webster, and his impact at Featherstone was as impressive as it had been at Swinton. He slotted into the second-row alongside Brett Ferres, despite stiff competition, and was noted for his strong running. His height made him difficult to tackle and his reputation grew as the season progressed. He missed the 1895 final because of Covid protocols, but appeared in the grand final before moving to Super League with Hull KR.

An Ireland international, he made his debut for his heritage country in the 2021 World Cup qualifying programme.
