Glenn Bell, part of a large family of rugby league players from New Zealand, came over to England in 1988 to add size and weight to Featherstone Rovers' pack. His cousin Dean and his uncle Cameron were already in England. On his day, Bell was a destructive force, his strong runs and skillful off-loading made him hard to tackle. He also struggled at time for fitness, but nevertheless gave some memorable performances in a blue and white shirt before signing for Dewsbury then Doncaster. He also played for Scotland through a heritage qualification.
