Gordon Senior was open-side prop forward signed from Huddersfield in the middle of the week and went straight into a big derby match against Castleford on the Saturday. The experienced forward took the challenge in his stride. When Frank Hemmingway was fit again, Senior switched to blind side prop where he spent the rest of the season.
