Graham Bray signed for Featherstone from Rossington Hornets, a Doncaster amateur side, and after making his debut during the 1971/72 season he made only limited first team appearances in his first two years at Post Office Road.   He was one of a crop of decent young wingers playing at Featherstone around the same time.  Bray was a good finisher with an eye for the line. His best season was in 1973/74, when an extended first team run was rewarded with an appearance in the Captain Morgan Trophy Final and a Challenge Cup Final appearance at Wembley.  Unfortunately on both occasions he collected a runners up medal.

In our Championship winning season, Bray was in great form grabbing 10 tries in 16 matches and he collected a third runners up medal from the 1976 Yorkshire Cup Final.  When Dave Dyas took over his place in the side,  he was sold to Hull FC  in January 1977 for £3,500.   Despite their big money, Hull were a Second Division side at the time, and won the title without losing a game.  When Rovers carried off the main prize, Bray had uniquely won First and Second Division Championship winners medals in the same season.  He served Hull for a further four seasons, collecting yet another runners up medal in the 1980 Cup Final at Wembley but did manage another winners medal from the 1980 BBC Floodlight Trophy.  In the 1980/81 season after a series of injuries, and an influx of Kiwis to the Hull squad, he decided to retire.
