Graham Westwood made his debut shortly after turning professional from Sandal RU in August 1964.  He made six appearances that season but it was clear he wasn't quite ready for first team rugby league and went into the A team to develop his game.  By perseverance and persistent try scoring feats in the A team he was brought back into the first team in December 1965 and kept his place until he sufferred a broken leg in early 1967 which ended his Rovers career.  He was a member of the Rovers side which lost the 1966 Yorkshire Cup Final 25 - 12 to Hull KR.
