Greg Worthington was a solid centre who played for Featherstone in two separate spells. Born in Bradford and a product of the Queensbury club, he signed professionally for Huddersfield. He was making no progress, so he joined Daryl Powell’s very successful Featherstone Rovers team for 2011. He rapidly became a dependable, hard tackling strong running presence in the three-quarters. He rarely missed a game over four seasons with the club, clocking up nearly 100 games, scoring more than 50 tries and appearing in two Championship Grand finals. He missed the 2014 final against Leigh with injury, and then joined Leigh after their win and promotion to Super League. After two seasons there, he had three seasons at the fledgling Toronto Wolfpack. When they were promoted to Super League for 2020, Worthington came back to Featherstone on a long-term loan which was cut short when the season was abandoned due to the COVID pandemic.
