Prop H. Hewitt (first name unknown) was signed from the Castleford area junior rugby scene in December 1927, and played most of his Rovers career in the reserves. He didn't make the first team until December 1928 when unusually for a prop in this era he scored a try on debut. In March 1929, he moved to live in the Keighley district and was placed on the transfer list as he couldn't get to training. Wakefield Trinity stepped into sign him in October 1929, where in press reports he was attributed to have made a significant improvement in their scrummaging.
