Reserve team scrum-half Harold Arblaster got a first team opportunity as he deputised for Harry Herbert in a rearranged fixture, part of a pile-up of matches towards the end of the season. In his second game that September he had the misfortune to be part of an abject display as Rovers were hammered by Warrington and despite scoring a spirited try, Arblaster never got another call up.
