When Yorkshire County hooker Percy Morris left Featherstone in 1933 he left a real hole in Featherstone’s front row, a position they struggled to fill with stand-in hookers such as Luke Morgan and George Taylor.  At the start of the 1933/34 season Oliver Darlison was in dispute with the Rovers committee and a deal was done for him to move to Huddersfield and as part of the deal hooking specialist Harry Lomas moved to Rovers.  He did his best in a terrifically difficult season, but when Morris returned from Halifax, the problem was solved. Lomas later turned out a few times alongside Morris as a converted prop forward in the 1935/36 season.
