Two weeks after their penultimate game in 1944/5 a hastily arranged fixture with Wakefield was played, perhaps solely to allow Wakefield to boost their win percentage in the War Emergency League table. The match will be remembered as the last War-time fixture Featherstone played. VE Day was a month or so away and the six year long war was almost over. Malcom Kent, who went on to play 100 games for Featherstone, and Henry Tipton, playing his one and only game for Rovers, both made their debuts. Rovers lost 9-0 in a horrendous rainstorm.
