It would be fair to say Ian Bell, a big strong centre from the Hull area, had a chequered career. After short spells at Hull and Hull KR he received a sine die ban for assault in an amateur game. When the ban was rescinded in 2009, he signed for Barrow, but after a few games he left. In May he signed for Featherstone, grabbed a hat-trick on his debut, but after just one further appearance he left the club, later playing for York.
