Cousin of 1960’s winger Graham, Ian Westwood made his Featherstone debut in their first league match as reigning league champions on the opening day of 1977/8, a tough fixture at Salford. From then on, Westwood was used only sparingly, eight games in three seasons, playing mostly with the A team before receiving permission to go back to playing amateur rugby.
