Locally born Jack Arnold played at both Oldham and Keighley before spending the 2023 season at Rochdale. Originally from Upton, he signed for Featherstone Rovers for 2024 after trails in pre-season, and immediately began to impress with his work-rate and commitment. He made his club debut on the opening day of the season at Hunslet in January, came off the bench to score a try, but in the act of scoring damaged his shoulder badly. A full six months of rehabilitation saw him return with the same drive and enthusiasm in late July and keep his place for the rest of the season. He picked up the ‘Best Newcomer’ award at the club’s end of season presentation night. His progress the following season was hampered by off-season surgery on a long-standing injury, but he forced his way back into contention and played six substitute appearances. His last game for the club was probably the highlight of his career, playing at Wembley for Featherstone against York. Soon after, he was traded to League One newcomers Goole.
