At 6ft 5in and over 100kg, prop Jack Ormondroyd had the ideal build for a rugby league front-rower although he is the son of ex-soccer player Ian Ormondroyd. After time at the Drighlington club, Jack started at Featherstone as a teenager, playing for the Under 18s then reserve team. Although he made his debut in 2013, he had a year out in Australia, and made 2015 his breakthrough year. Two very promising seasons led to a contract offer from Leeds for 2017.
Unable to break into the Leeds first team on a regular basis, he was loaned back to Featherstone all three years of his Leeds contract. He did well enough in Rovers’ 2019 run to the Grand final to win another Super League contract for 2020, at Salford.
