A Featherstone side in a terrible run of form borrowed Halifax full-back Jackie Mills for a few matches as a threadbare squad limped through a difficult winter. On his debut, with Rovers missing various players and playing a trialist on the wing, Mills must have wondered what he’d let himself in for. Rovers were thumped 37-2 by Hunslet, the two points supplied by a Mills goal. It was Rovers 18th successive defeat, a run that wasn’t broken until 6th March 1937 at Leigh. It was one of only two wins Mills enjoyed in his ten game spell, which finished with another thrashing, 60-14 at Huddersfield.
