Although a local lad, Jamie Cording’s professional career began at Gateshead, and then Sheffield. He did well enough to win a contract with Super league club Huddersfield Giants where he spent two seasons. He arrived at Featherstone in 2014, and quickly settled in as a skilful and intelligent second-rower. A serious knee injury curtailed his 2016 season and indeed caused his early retirement from the game. He also worked on the club’s schools development programme through Featherstone Rovers Foundation with great success, and later became a school teacher.
