Local prop Jason Sims’ first season at Featherstone was his most successful. Under coach David Ward he did incredibly well to break into a Rovers front row that included Steve Molloy and Leo Casey, and hold his own. Thirteen appearances that season augured well, but after demotion and the introduction of summer rugby, Sims hardly played, dogged by injury. He then had a year at Batley, then Doncaster.
