Local winger Jim Price had some trials with A team in 1930/31 season and was given a first team trial at the beginning of 1932/33 in a Lyon Cup match against Castleford. At age 20 he was signed on and went straight into the first team for the opening league fixture against Batley. However, the team performance against Batley was so poor, changes had to be made and the luckless Price missed out and headed into the reserves.
When he broke back into the first team over a year later it was at loose forward, where he got an extended run and competed all season with Joe Evans for the number 13 role. In further seasons his chances were restricted and his last game was at the start of the 1937/38 season.
