Hull based hooker Joe McLocklan was playing at Doncaster in National League 2 when he was spotted by rivals Featherstone Rovers who were heading for promotion. McLocklan switched to Post Office Road and finished the year as starting hooker in the Playoff final victory at Headingley against Oldham. He was a first team fixture for the next two seasons, offering good service from acting half-back and his share of the mid-field tackling duties. For 2010, Rovers signed Ben Kaye and McLocklan moved onto York and then Hunslet.
