Although brief, young prop Joe Summers’ Featherstone career will go down in history. Signed from Castleford’s Academy a pre-season injury set back his progress, but when Covid-hit Rovers made it to Wembley in July 2021 in the 1895 Cup, Summers found himself making his professional debut at the famous stadium, only the second ever rugby league player to do so. He played his part, and kept his place the following week. He finished the season on loan at Hunslet and made the move permanent for 2022.
