Reserve team winger John Jepson was called up to the first team just once in his career, a daunting trip to Widnes to face a team that included Davies, Offiah, Wright and Devereux in their three-quarters. Jepson let nobody down, but it was to be his only first team outing. He later played for Travellers Saints, and had a brief three match trial at Wakefield Trinity.
