Jonny Presley was the livewire lynchpin of a very successful Featherstone Rovers Academy team and took the step up to first team football in his stride. He played a handful of games in his debut season as back up to Carl Briggs as he learned the ropes at Championship level. The following season, he became Briggs’ regular partner in the halves. The arrival however of Australian Josh Weedon and loanee Liam Finn in 2005 ended his first team chances and he moved to first Sheffield, then Keighley and York. He built a creditable Championship career of almost 300 games over 14 seasons at those four clubs.
