It was quite a coup for Featherstone Rovers to land Wests Tigers utility back Jy Hitchcox for the 2015 season. Originally from Byron’s Bay, he was initially given the full-back role, and scored a couple of spectacular long-range tries. Ian Hardman won his shirt back, and Hitchcox moved out to the wing with some success. His 25 games that season bagged him 11 tries without fully realising his potential. Castleford signed him up for the 2016 season, and despite numerous loan spells out, appeared for the Tigers in the 2017 Super League Grand final. He later played for Bradford and Toulouse.
