At the end of an injury affected 1963/64 season Rovers gave a couple of run outs to A team prop Keith Parker. Given the quality of the players ahead of him in the competition for a front row position, including Mal Dixon, Abe Terry and a young Les Tonks, Parker acquitted himself well and became a dependable figure to call on in an injury crisis. His consistent performances brought him only 13 appearances in four seasons, but was the typical dependable clubman the club needed.
