Ken Brookes was a Wakefield Trinity player who made a single guest appearance for Rovers in the wartime emergency league where the rules allowed much greater freedom for players to turn out for different clubs.  In January 1949, after seven seasons at Wakefield, he moved to Featherstone in exchange for Derek Smith.  The side were struggling badly at the time and as back he only managed a single try in 21 appearances.  After fracturing an elbow, ironically in a game against Wakefield in August 1950, he never played again for Rovers.
