Prop forward Kevin Anderson was a local lad who made his way through junior and A team rugby to establish himself in the first team squad. After five seasons' service, he moved to Castleford in a swap for stand-off Phil Johnson. Two of his uncles, Colin and Jack, both preceded Kevin in Featherstone Rovers’ first team, as did his grandfather Lionel.
