Signed from Glasshoughton Colliery team, Larry Hossack’s career was limited almost exclusively to the Emergency War League period. Times were hard, and Hossack’s debut was deputising for Blackburn who was on RAF duty. He had a try ruled out for a forward pass, and generally did enough to warrant a second opportunity. He did much more than that, establishing himself as a first team regular over the following two years. His modest try return of nine in 55 matches reflected how much the club struggled during this period.
