Malcolm Kent’s Featherstone career took off at the end of World War Two. A tough tackling second-rower who got on with the hard graft of the game, Kent was the typical unsung hero that every side needs. The period he played in was one of struggle for a Rovers team languishing near to the bottom of the league on an annual basis, but Kent clocked up 100 appearances over six full seasons with the first team. When Eric Batten took over as coach he featured less and his last game was in August 1951.
