Mark Campbell played his junior rugby at Lock Lane and signed professional forms for a newly-formed Sheffield Eagles in 1984. After a season there, he moved back into the amateur game with Featherstone Miners Welfare, from where he was snapped up by Rovers. A utility forward, equally at home in the second-row and at hooker, he made 20 appearances over three seasons without fully establishing himself as a first team regular. His professional career ended with a brief loan spell at Mansfield. After retiring, he became a successful businessman and joined the Rovers Board of Directors in 2007, succeeding Steve Evans as chairman in 2009.
