Oulton based prop forward Mick Bamford was drafted in under the "AN Other" name as a substitute for an already relegated Featherstone Rovers on the final day of the 1986/87 season at Barrow. He played most of his career in the amateur game, and won representative honours for GB BARLA Under 19s. He also had trialist spells at Sheffield Eagles and Bramley, plus a spell in Australia with the Burleigh Bears and Tara Panthers.
