Having started his career in the NRL with his home-town team the Auckland Warriors, centre Misi Taulapapa was a Cronulla player when he debuted for Samoa at the 2008 Rugby League World Cup. In 2010 he came to England and signed for Sheffield Eagles, where he twice faced Featherstone in Grand finals. After six seasons there, he was approaching veteran status when he signed for Rovers in 2016. Over three seasons he provided high quality service to the club. A strong runner capable of attracting penalties, and an aggressive defender, he led by example to younger team-mates. In terms of try scoring, his first season was his most prolific, 16 in 28 games, the club’s top scorer that year. After two more solid seasons, he moved on to finish his career at Newcastle, then Doncaster.
