When veteran Castleford forward Nathan Massey joined Featherstone for the 2024 season, he in fact resumed a Rovers career that remarkably had begun as a teenager some sixteen years earlier. As a promising youngster at Wheldon Road, Massey had spent a brief spell at Post Office Road in the middle of the 2008 season before going on to have a long and successful career with the Tigers. After more than 300 games for the Tigers, his return to Rovers started promisingly as his experience and graft strengthened the Rovers pack. Unfortunately, after just three games old injuries started to flair up and he manged just four more games before being forced to retire.

Although not strictly qualified to do so, Massey was capped at international level in 2007 by the USA.
