Within five months of his first team debut, Antony Norman Mitchell was fulfilling every player’s dream, walking out at Wembley in the line up of his hometown team. The 1952 Challenge Cup final was just his 20th game of senior rugby. On the opposite wing, his coach, 37 year old Eric Batten was in his fourth final.
