Halfback Paul Turner signed for Featherstone in early 2024 from St. George Illawarra in the NRL to fill a gap in the backs left by the departure of Ben Reynolds. He made his debut at Leigh in the Challenge Cup and soon proved a handful for opposition defences with his elusive running. He had a run of twelve consecutive games in the halves, scoring seven tries, before a shoulder injury against Whitehaven forced him into a lengthy lay-off and he returned home. In those twelve matches he had no fewer than five different half-back partners, and more stability and control may have allowed Turner's individual talents to shine more.
