Peter Barker was a local man who played a couple of games in 1981 for Rovers and had a short spell at Bradford Northern when Cyril Kellett was 'A' team coach. As an amateur player he was stand-off when Jubilee ARLFC  famously won the BARLA National Cup in 1985, a tale he recounted in Ian Clayton's book "When Push comes to Shove Vol.2".
